A reflection of its creators, Anthony Genovese and Marion Lichtle, Il Pagliaccio restaurant opened its doors to the public in 2003 on Via dei Banchi Vecchi, in the heart of Rome. Over the years, it has continuously evolved, changing its style, soul, and spirit.

A major renovation transforms the restaurant, in harmony with the elegance of its cuisine

The restaurant changes form, undergoing a structural transformation aligned with the new gastronomic concept: Parallels.

2019

In 2019, a further transformation saw Il Pagliaccio return to its roots, to that idea of a “circus of flavors” with which it was born 16 years earlier. “Some stories take a very long journey only to return to their origins.”

2020

Il Pagliaccio becomes part of the prestigious association Les Grandes Tables du Monde.

2021

Il Pagliaccio receives the Best Service Award from the Michelin Guide 2022.

2022

Parallels Experience is born. A restaurant within the restaurant, a dynamic and engaging experience reserved for 6 guests per evening in an intimate and private room, for a journey of flavors around the world.

2023

Il Pagliaccio celebrates its first 20 years, with a series of special events and initiatives, from Rome to the rest of the world.

2025

Il Pagliaccio celebrates Chef Anthony Genovese’s 40-year career, a journey shaped by research, travel, and vision, continuously evolving between memory and future.
